The Monroe Police Department is investigating an early morning armed robbery on Deloach Street.

Around 2:30 a.m. the MPD was sent to the scene. A Pop-A-Lock worker had traveled to the area to assist with a call reporting a person locked out of a car.

When the worker arrived, a black male was standing beside a car. The worker opened his car trunk to remove his tools, and a second person approached him from behind and pulled a gun on him.

The suspect took a 9 mm the worker was carrying for personal protection, and both suspects left the scene in the worker's gray 2001 Lincoln Town Car. As the suspects left, a shot was fired, but it was unclear if it was shot at the victim.

The incident remains under investigation. No arrests have been made.
